  1. Experiment Title…… • Experimental Staff and contact information: • Example: • Principal Investigator (PI) • Co-PI • Staff Scientist • Post Doc • Graduate Students • Undergraduate Students • Run Date: mm/dd/yyyy to mm/dd/yyyy

  2. Experimental Objectives List and explain in detail the scientific objectives of the experimental run. Describe the intended outcome of the experiment and show charts if applicable

  3. Experimental Concept Explain the concept for achieving the experimental objectives

  4. Experimental Concept Figure • Show a diagram of the experimental concept. • For example:

  5. Experimental Diagram and setup • Include the experimental diagram form your proposal with updates if any

  6. Equipment & Resource lists • Complete the following table of proposed diagnostics. This list will be further developed and updated at the 3-month readiness review • List equipment supplied by TPW that the experiment requires. • Use additional pages as needed

  7. Experimental plan concept • List all measurements required to achieve experimental objectives. • Describe your tentative shot plan: • Quantity and description of targets and who is responsible for fabrication and delivery • Number of shots anticipated for each type of target or configuration (i.e. angle, p-polarization, in focus, defocused etc.) • List laser requirements: • Energy • Pulse duration • Intensity • Prepulse contrast ratio

  8. Experimental plan & shot requests (continued) • Describe experimental direction. As far as you can anticipate, how will your shot plan change depending on what you see? How critical are specific pulse parameters, and how will you adapt the experiment if laser parameters are not exactly as requested ?
