Student Voices • “The class did a very good job at expanding my horizons and forced me to think critically about very important issues that I thought that I had a firmer stance on..” – • "The Academy and the mentor programming have served as one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career. I could have never asked for a better mentor to compliment my interests or a stronger leader to guide my decisions. Nothing will be quite as special as having the opportunity to be mentored by such a talented, outstanding individual.

  3. International Leadership Challenge • Following the meeting, the students are responsible for developing a project proposal and leading the implementation of the project. • Pairs of students are challenged to initiate and complete a realistic and sustainable project that will promote international exchange on campus or beyond.

Competition • University of Kentucky • Major in sustainable agriculture • College of Agriculture certified-organic CSA farm where students work the day-to-day management • Student credits by completing apprenticeships in sustainable agriculture where they assist farmers on organic farms with daily activities. • International Exchange Programs • Colorado State University • Interdisciplinary program • Internship experience • Organic Ag Degree concentration • Student-run organic garden • . • Michigan State University • 10-acre organic farm • Students manage operations • Year-round for CSA distribution. • Organic Farmer 9-month Training Program • Sustainable Ag and Food Systems Concentrations • Washington State University • Organic Agriculture Systems Major • Hands-on learning • University’s organically-certified farm • Internships are possible for students to work directly with farmers and help them manage their farms.
