Statement of Purpose The CMPA will: • Conduct its affairs with honesty and integrity; • Demonstrate its commitment to the: • Viability of the industry • Protection of the environment • Community in which it exists; and • Vigorously pursue with the Government and others issues of widespread concern to Members; • Demonstrate leadership and a sense of direction for the industry; • Act as a resource and provide support to Members through the delivery of cost savings and assistance in complying with legal obligations; • Foster unity and cooperation between Members and others; and • Promote continuous improvement through education, training and other activities.

Industry Representation Statement of Membership Evolving from industry pressure for a peer network of independent quarrying companies, the CMPA now has an established membership base representing businesses involved in the extraction, processing or otherwise of hard rock, gravel, sand, masonry, clay, lime, soil, gypsum or recycling and includes industry consultants, suppliers and the industry workforce.

Training Facilitation Extractive Industries Training Package The CMPA is constantly working on the development of resources and the facilitation of training in conjunction with various RTO’s for the units of Certificate II and III for Members and industry as a whole. The following units are currently available: • Work Safely Training & Conduct Local Risk Control • Communicate in the Workplace • Perform Basic Cutting & Welding • Service & Handover Front End Loaders • Working Safely at Heights • Running Effective Meetings • Conduct Crushing Operations • Conduct Screening Operations • Combined Crushing & Screening

Training Facilitation Extractive Industries Training Package • In addition, the following units are currently under development: Crushing & Screening: • Conduct blending plant operations • Conduct screening plant operations • Service and maintain crushers • Service and maintain screens • Service and maintain conveyors, feeders and hoppers

  9. Networking As well as facilitating training, the CMPA conducts numerous workshops and events for Members. Recent events include: Workshops • Blasting– development of a Blast Management Plan Template • Transport Contract – business obligations in regards to cartage activities • Conditions of Credit Application – what are your business obligations? Forums • Industry Briefing – Incident Reporting Under WorkSafe, Review of the EIDA, Native Vegetation and the Extractive Industry • Ways to review your Cash flow and Debtor Management processes and procedures • Employment Obligations when it comes to reviewing your employees performance
