  3. “The Smile of the Child” in Crete A few words about the valuable donation by Dr. Basile Khoudokormaff Charitable Foundation Dr. Basile Khoudokormaff was a brilliant scientist of Russian origin. He passed away in September 2011 and his beloved wife Dr. Wedad Tadros, who always said of him “he was the wind beneath my wings and that she lived through him, by him and for him”, was contrite by the unbearable loss of her husband. Her only consolation was the development of an orphanage in his loving memory. It was a long time desire of Dr Khoudokormaff to create a small orphanage for the orphans in order to protect them from any danger and offer them food and love covering the basic needs of their lives. Going beyond education, his wish was to communicate to these kids the values of Christian philanthropy, morality, self-esteem and the desire to serve. Dr Tadros’ only consolation, which also consisted her only cause in life, helping her, in this way to face the pain after her big loss, was to establish this Foundation and to pray to see the day that the first babies would be welcome there. Unfortunately this day never came as Dr. W. Tadros passed away in her sleep from a cardiac arrest, without managing to accomplish her loving husband’s dream.

  4. “The Smile of the Child” in Crete . After the demise of Dr Wedad Tadros, wife of Dr Basil Khoudokormoff, her niece Mrs. Jessie Carras contacted “The Smile of the Child” firmly believing that our organization is the only one who can implement her aunt’s dream. The process moved on and today we are at the phase of creating the Home in Heraclion Crete.
