Opportunity • Heart Rhythm Society willing to take lead in promoting interoperability / IHE in EP • CMS requirements for ICD registry incentivize device manufacturers to participate in data sharing • Indications from most major device manufacturers of some interest in standards-based approaches • IHE work in EP - championed by HRS - may jump start their full engagement • Basis for implant use case development using IHE Cath Profile Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005

Next Step Tasks • Formation of EP user/vendor task force • Clinical users’ identification of pain points – highest priority integration profiles • Mapping of current and desired workflows and data flows • Interventional Lab - Implantation / Ablation • Follow-up • Identification of gaps in standards • Development of EP IHE roadmap • Target date for first profiles – IHE Cardiology Year 3 • HRS member communication/education program Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005
