To have a life that is abundant, one must walk in that order. The Fall provides the transparent reality of the fall and the consequences of sin in the crushing and disappearance of women. None of the consequences of the fall are to be seen as normative for male-female relations. 3.The Redemption has two parts 1. Proto-redemption 1. As found in the law of God to curb the abuses and create a modicum of justice for women 2. As foretold in Hosea of the restoration of godly male-female relations 2. The work of Christ to lay a foundation for substantial healing in the relationship between women and men. 4.     9. Distinction Between Being and Function Being: refers to our existence, substance, or fundamental nature. It refers to our being made Imago Dei. Function: refers to purpose, responsibility, or role. In Being, all human beings are equal. In Function men and women are diverse in person, role and function in a way that is complementary. While their functions may be different, they are of equal necessity and value. In Being, all human beings are equal. The Relational View Community The Social View The Divine Community created the human community Required for the Societal Mandate (Genesis 1:28) The Relational View Community This may also be called the social view and is related to the first part of the Creation Mandate to Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth . (Genesis 1: 28) Societal Mandate (Genesis 1:28) The societal mandate to have children and to extend the human family. This means to procreate Gods image and likeness. It means the procreation of eternal beings This stands in contrast to the materialist who would see that having children is creating more mouths to feed. Before the creation of the world, because God is One and Many, there was community, communion and communication. When God created, mankind in His image, He made them for relationship. Because God is Community, the image of God must be community. The essence of this understanding of Imago Dei is community.
