  1. 3rd Grade ProceduresWhat are procedures? Procedures are put in place for our classroom so you will know what is expected of you on a daily basis.

  2. Completed Daily Work • Any work that you complete will need to be turned into me. • Place all finished work in the paper trays on the wire table next to my desk. • Make sure you have put your name on your paper. • Work that we complete together will not be collected.

  3. Entering Class Procedures • Put your backpack away in your locker. Get anything out you may need including your purple folder. • Your list of morning work will be on the board. Your morning work will be on your tables. • When finished with your morning work put in your Morning Work folder.

  4. Homework Procedure • Homework will consist of review from the previous weeks. You will also be responsible for learning you spelling words each week. • Please check the assignment sheet to see what homework is assigned for each night. Homework is due the next morning and should be placed in returned homework shelf. • You will get a mark on your behavior card for not returning your homework. If you forget it, you may turn it in late.

  5. “Whose turn is it to talk?” • We will all have the opportunity to talk. • When it is your turn, we will all listen. • When it is my turn, we will all listen. • Please raise your hand if you have something to ask or say. • When I raise my hand please freeze, keep eyes on me, and be ready for instructions. I will have something to say.

  6. Your Locker and Your Desk • You are responsible for your locker and your desk. • Keep it neat at all times. • Never should you stuff papers in your desk or your locker. • Food items from lunch or snack should NOT be left in your locker.

  7. Absence Procedures • I really and sincerely miss you when you are not here. No empty chairs! • Do your best never to be absent. I understand sometimes we get sick, but try to always be here. • If you are absent an Absent Folder will be at your seat when you get back. Please complete all missed work and return as soon as possible.

  8. Lunchroom Procedures • Use your manners. • Food belongs on your tray or in your mouth. • Clean up your table and the floor around you. • Talk quietly. • Say “thank you” to the people who work so hard to feed you!

  9. Visitor/Substitute Procedures • When someone enters the classroom: immediately there should be silence. • Continue on with your lesson. • I am rarely out, however if I am, please treat the substitute as respectfully as you treat me. I expect the same good behavior at all times.

  10. Morning/Afternoon Pit Procedures • Sit quietly and stay seated. • You may read a book. • Keep your hands to yourself. • Use the stairs when going into the pit or coming out.

  11. Recess Procedures • 1. Rocks stay on the ground. • 2. Do not play behind the wall. • 3. Slide with your feet first. Do not climb up the slide. • 4. Do not jump out of swings. • 5. Kick and throw balls on grass areas only. • 6. Stay on YOUR playground area only. • Treat others the way you want to be treated!!
