  2. (Ex. 35:5) A WILLING HEART • “WILLINGLY” DEFINED • A. Voluntary, gladly, cheerfully, ungrudgingly, disposed, minded, of one’s own accord (Strong, Vine). • B. Inclined, favorably disposed, ready, prompt, without reluctance (Webster). “Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD…” (Ex. 35:5).

  3. (Ex. 35:5) A WILLING HEART • A HEART WILLING TO SERVE • A. God does NOT accept all service! (Mt. 15:1-9; 1 Sam. 16:7; Heb. 12:28) • B. A mind to work can accomplish much! (Neh. 4:6; Mt. 9:37-38) • C. How else abound in the work of the Lord? (1 Cor. 15:58; Phil. 2:13) “And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts…” (1 Chr. 28:9).

  4. (Ex. 35:5) III. A HEART WILLING TO PRAY A. Pray so as to be understood! (1 Cor. 14:14-16, 26, 32, 39-40) B. Bring EVERYTHING to God (Phil. 4:6; Jas. 1:5-8) C. Pray for others. (Col. 1:9; 1 Tim. 2:1-2; Js. 5:16; Mt.5:44) D. Prayed to God “always”! (Acts 10:2) E. Are we praying from the heart? A WILLING HEART

  5. (Ex. 35:5) IV. A HEART WILLING TO SING A. Sing so as to be understood! (1 Cor. 14:15-16, 26, 32, 39-40) B. How should we sing? (Col. 3:16; Eph. 5:19; Jn. 4:24) C. Are we singing? D. Are we singing from the heart? A WILLING HEART

  6. (Ex. 35:5) A WILLING HEART V. A HEART WILLING TO GIVE A. First give self to God & to brethren (2 Cor. 8:1-5; Phil. 2:2-4; 2 Cor. 9:6-10). B. According to ability (2 Cor. 8:12-15). C. Better to give, than to receive (Acts 20:35; 2 Th. 3:10). “Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.” (Ex. 25:2).

  7. (Ex. 35:5) VI. A HEART WILLING TO ACCEPT TRUTH A. To study (Acts 17:11; Ps. 119:9-16). B. To be corrected (Jn. 7:17; 3:19-21; Mt. 18:15-17; 19:9-12, 16-22). C. Even when it hurts (Lk 14:26-27, 34-35; Heb. 12:11). D. Obedience from the heart (Rom. 6:16-18). A WILLING HEART

  8. (Ex. 35:5) CONCLUSION: A. Do we happily serve God? B. Do we pray without reluctance? C. Do we cheerfully sing? D. Do we give ungrudgingly? E. Do we willingly accept Truth? A WILLING HEART Are we humble & contrite? Or do we choose our own way? (Is. 66:1-5)
