  4. Productive Practices • Update -10 practices expressed interest -Majority requested diagnostics -Cost (expensive) -4 practices only • Outcome of Review -Not to participate/progress -For the Primary Care team to undertake a review in September - Work across all practices

  5. Enhances Services-changes From April 2013 Enhanced services will be provided by: • CCG • Local Authority • NHS England

CCG Services • These have been retained by the CCG to be managed • The Director responsible is Gina Lawrence, day to day queries are through Linda Newton 0161 873 9594 • The CSU helps with supporting practices to establish new enhanced services with a data quality co-ordinator Becky Flynn (who will be working from the CCG). • A letter explaining Becky’s role in more detail will be sent to the practices in the next few days and appointments can be made for Jason and team to visit

  7. CCG responsible for... • LES palliative care ending September 2013 • NES near patient testing (2004) • NES anti-coagulant (2004) • LES anti-coagulants (2004) • LES minor surgery for all practice use • Pharmacy – Minor ailments • Pharmacy – head lice • Opticians -Cataracts

  8. CCG responsibilities continued... Four new DES schemes -Risk profiling (managed locally by CCG) -Dementia -Patient online access -Remote care Baseline funding for enhanced services remains within the CCG (except Local Authority enhanced services) -No transitional local enhanced services should last longer than 1 year -PCT adapted DESs (such as minor surgery) future will be determined by the area team and the CCG together

Local Authority Responsible for... • Several schemes have transferred to them with the transfer of Public Health • Abdul Razzaq is the Director responsible for enhanced services within TMBC • In case of query please contact Abdul on 0161 912 1300 or his PA Ashra on 0161 912 1319 • LES Alcohol (2008) • LES Learning Disability (2008), training for GPs provided through NHS England • LES Drugs (2004) • LES Chlamydia • NES IUCD (2004) • NHS Health Checks (2009)

LAT responsible for... • Where there is likely to a local nuance they are passed to the CCG to implement (such as the risk stratification) • The Director responsible for enhanced services is Rob Bellingham, day to day leads are: Rachael Chambers - rachael.chambers@nhs.net & Gemma Melia - gemma.melia@nhs.net • The CSU provide the monitoring and day to day work on the service, please contact Malcolm Philp with any queries • Malcolm Philp - malcolmphilp@nhs.net • LES /DES extended access (2014) • DES Patient participation (2010) • DES, Violent patients (2004) • New DES Rotavirus (2013) • New DES Shingles Vacc70+ (2013) • DES minor surgery - for own patients (2004) • New DES risk profiling (2013) • New DES care management (2013) • DES, learning disability (2004) • DES alcohol (2004) • DES Childhood Vaccinations and immunisations

Next steps • Handout of Payment sheets • Electronic specification to be sent out by Linda Newton • Letter to arrange appointments between CCG Primary Care Team and Practice managers • Hard copies of service specification available for practices • Data analyst to provide support • NHS England to decide which DES to continue with

  12. Next steps continued • Risk stratification-progress to be shared • CCG will commission enhanced services using the NHS standard contract. • All year end practices will be requested to send claims for payments to NHS England.
