  2. CTE Standards Adoption The ND CTE Board approves and adopts national or industry standards for the program areas. Course Frameworks provide the structure with a timeline and appropriate content standards.

  4. Construction Tech Crosswalk Standard 1: Basic SafetyTopic 1: Foundations of Safety Competency 1.1.1 Discuss the importance of working safely.

  7. There are fewer standards in the Common Core. • CCSS Standards are presented by grade level bands/subgroups. • CTE classes may have mixed grade levels.

  11. Reading Samples Identify the Reading Standards which could be aligned with the sample. Identify Vocabulary words that may need to be emphasized. What type of writing assignment could be developed based on the reading?

  12. Task/Activity Using the worksheet, identify the following: -ELA Standards -Mathematics Categories List the Mathematical Practices that are predominant.

  13. Content Standards/Course Frameworks Which Common Core Reading Standard might be used most effectively within the course timeline? Writing Standard?

  14. CTE & CCSS Message 1. Instruction based on program area standards continues to be the top priority. 2. A limited number of Common Core Standards should be selected for implementation based on relevance to the content area standards.
