Brief Historical Development

RMUT, Lanna is one of several educational and

research institutes funded and administered by the

government.

1970 : RMUT was founded as an Agricultural

School, a branch of Maejo Agricultural College.

1975 : RMUT became an Institute of Technology and Vocational Education (ITVE).

1988 : It was renamed Rajamangala Institute of

Technology [RIT] by His Majesty the King Bhumipol.

2005 : 38 campuses of RIT were united into 9

RMUTs.


RajamangalaUniversity of Technology Lanna (RMUTL)

RMUTL one of the nine, grew out of the former RIT which established by an act of the country parliament that incorporated 6 RIT’s campuses and a research and training center. The University’s 6 campuses are located in Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Tak, Nan Phitsanulok and Lampang.


RMUTL’S Mission

The philosophy of RMUT Lanna is to develop

qualified ethical standard personel to utilize, apply

and develop technology for the socio-economic

development of Thailand.

Currently RMUTL has 130 staff and 2,000 full

time students, Its researchspecialization is focused on

agriculture,foodscience andtechnology, engineering ,

businessadministration and tourism.
