  2. Covenants • Preamble The great king gives his name and the titles of his office. • Historical Prologue The GK states the historical basis for the treaty with emphasis on his acts of benevolence. • Stipulations The conditions imposed by the GK.

  3. Covenant • Preservation and Proclamation of the Covenant Copies of the treaty were preserved and read publicly. • Witnesses to the Treaty Gods of both countries were invoked as witnesses.

  4. The Commandments • No other gods. • Make no images to worship them • Do not take the Name of the LORD in vain. • Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy • Honor your father and mother.

  5. The Commandments • Do not kill • Do not commit adultery • Do not steal • Do not bear false witness • Do not covet your neighbor’s: • House • Wife • Servants, etc.
