  2. WP4 Policy Makers • Aim: EU member states decide to • Make use of the harmonised GHG calculation rules and • Use Excel tool or standard values • At least 6 MS: e.g. Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK • Means: Policy maker workshops and national technical meetings

  3. Task 4.1: Get policy makers involved • project partners will contact policy makers and explain in detail the objectives of the BioGrace-II project • Two target groups: • Prepare for policy maker workshop 1: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK • Inform about BioGrace-II: all other EU member states

Task 4.1: Get policy makers involved • 28May’12 (ANL, BE2020, AEBIOM, BIO IS, IFEU, STEM and VREG) • Propose improvements on text for communication • Update list of relevant policy makers and associations • 8Jun’12 Distribution of updated versions (VREG) • 15Jun’12 Mail communication (VREG) • Final text for communication • Final list of relevant policy makers and associations • Send out mailing • Sep’12 Meeting with policy makers was held • For your country: (ANL, BE2020, BIO IS, IFEU, STEM and VREG) • Feedback is sent to VREG before 1Nov”12 • Feb’13: list of policy makers is updated with their whish to be involved or not (VREG)

Task 4.2: First policy maker workshop and national follow-up meeting • Contact the members of the European Committee on sustainability of biofuels and bioliquids: European Commission (VREG) • Announce at CA-RES (VREG) • Jan’13 Send out doodle to updated list (VREG) • Apr’13: first policy maker workshop (VREG) • Present deliverables D2.1 and D3.1 • Get positions of MS on harmonisation • Required adaptations on D2.1 and D3.1 to reach harmonisation

Task 4.2: First policy maker workshop and national follow-up meeting • May-Jun’13: follow-up meeting • For your country (ANL, BE2020, BIO IS, IFEU, STEM and VREG) • ANL will contact UK • 15Jul’13 Sent report to VREG with elements that need to be improved in full detail (0,5 – 2 pages A4) • 1Aug’13 VREG distributes the long-list

  7. Task 4.3: Second policy maker workshop • Small (only some MS) or large (all MS)? • National meetings in preparation? • Oct’13 • Present how remarks were taken into account • identify which elements need further improvement • VREG makes a short-list • National follow-up meetings?

  8. Task 4.4: Third policy maker workshop • After final version 3 of the tool • List invitations (200 + 100) • May 2014 • For policy makers and European Commission, important companies, associations and media

Deliverables • D4.1: Report from first policy maker workshop (Feb 2013) • D4.2: Long-list of items reported by policy makers (Apr 2013) • D4.3: Report from second policy maker workshop (May 2014) • D4.4: Short-list of items that remain and need to be solved (May 2014) • D4.5: Report from third policy maker workshop (Oct 2014)
