  1. UNDERSTANDING DIAMOND MINING

  2. UNDERSTANDING DIAMOND MINING • Diamond are undoubtedly the most beautiful and valued minerals mined from the earth’s mantle. • Lets dig a bit deeper and understand their existence and origin.

  3. TYPES OF DIAMOND MINING Diamond mining dates back to antiquity, however with time latest technologies and machineries are incorporated to make the process little faster and lot simpler. Diamond mining can be divided into three categories depending upon the location and geology of where the mine is located; • Pipe Mining • Alluvial Mining • Marine Mining

  4. PIPE MINING 1. Open-Pit Mining In Open-pit mining, a large hole is dug which is broad at the surface and narrower as it goes down. This allows the machinery to go deep down and extract diamond from ores. 2. Underground Mining Diamond rich pipes are located by the miners deep under the earth’s crust through tunnels. In two levels tunnels are constructed where the miners blast the pipes in the first tunnel, the ores fall and get accumulated in the second tunnel. The broken ores are then processed to extract diamond pieces.

  5. ALLUVIAL MINING • The diamond that get washed due to weather conditions transport to river beds and oceans by erosion. • Therefore, large walls are built to hold back the diamond-rich water and sand. • The gravel thus collected is then taken to the surface and processed to find diamonds.

  6. MARINE MINING • Diamonds are extracted from the seabed, deep under the water. • With technological advancement, specialized ships that have drill mounted on the top are used to extract and excavate diamonds. • These ships have a powerful crawler on top that extracts the gravel up through pipes.

  7. Diamond Distributor In India • To ensure high quality and value, KGK group- diamond manufacturer in indiainvests in diamond and gemstone mining in South America and Africa. • KGK also indulges in cutting, processing, and polishing of their own diamonds to deliver the best and highest quality of diamonds.
