Background • In order to provide more industrial/external exposures to the final year students, IE department has invited a number of external partners to co-advise FYPs • Co-advisors in 2013-14 includes those from • ASTRI • Huawei's Noah's Ark Lab in Science Park • IBM • Lenovo • Yahoo! HK • Applusoft Limited (in Science Park) • BasicElements Limited (in Science Park) • TFI Digital Media Limited (in Science Park) • Lively Impact Technology Limited (in Science Park) • (academic co-advisor) CUHK Psychology Department

  3. Format • Similar to all FYPs, an industry partnered FYP will have a primary supervisor from the IE Department and will be co-supervised by an external advisor from the partner companies / academic department. • The industry partnered FYPs may lead to summer internships upon further mutual agreement between the industry partners and the participating students • Students will basically conduct their FYPs on campus, but they may also be required to conduct part of their work at partners’ locations

Procedures • Basically, the selection procedures and schedule is the SAME as all other Phase 1 FYPs (i.e. submitting the 2013-14 FYP Matching Form Phase 1 by 22 April at 1:00pm, by selecting the corresponding FYP projects), in addition • Participating students need to submit their CVs and academic transcripts to the professors, which may be forwarded to the co-advisors for further consideration • Participating students may also be invited to attend a selection interview conducted within the IE department
