  • * Objectives:

    • - Improve understanding of the cyclic behavior of full-scale

    • shear walls of different construction

    • - Expand upon City of Los Angeles project at UC-Irvine

    • - Correlate with Task 1.1.1 Shake Table Tests

  • * 46 samples: 16’ x 8’, 6.5’ x 8’, 3’ x 8’

  • * Two large scale multi-story wall tests - 16’ x 17’

  • * Main test variables:

  • - Gravity loads, nail types, grade of framing lumber, staples,

  • hold-downs, aspect ratio
