  2. BIOGRAPHY OF LORENZO DE MEDICI: Lorenzo de' Medici was born on January 1st, 1449 and died on April 9th 1492. He was an Italian statesman and the unofficial ruler of the Florentine Republic during the Italian Renaissance. Known as Lorenzo the Magnificent by contemporary Florentines, he was a diplomat, politician and patron of scholars, artists, and poets. Perhaps what he is most known for is his contribution to the art world, giving large amounts of money to artists so they could create master works of art. His life coincided with the high point of the mature phase Italian Renaissance and his death coincided with the end of the Golden Age of Florence. The fragile peace he helped maintain between the various Italian states collapsed with his death. Lorenzo de' Medici is buried in the Medici Chapel in Florence.

  5. MY PERSONAL LINK TO LORENZO DE MEDICI:I love art, but I am not an artists. My personal link to Lorenzo de’ Medici is that even though I might not be an artist, I might not have the skills that would allow to be like Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo is that I know what good art is, I can appreciate it and I go out of my way to support those who want to create art. Me (Mr. Radford) meeting and supporting one of my favorite writers and artists Lawrence Block
