  1. ADDED’s “e-connection” project- The First Phase Launched March 3, 2020 Industrial Development Bureau (IDB) of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) announced the implementation of the “e-connection” project’s first phase. Under the ADDED’s “e-connection” project’s first phase, the issuance of Industrial licenses in Abu Dhabi will become effortless. The standard of the service provided to the business owners will be raised. There will be a “one-stop-shop platform” where the business owners can finalize their licensing procedures. The service provided by this new electronic platform will be automated. This e-connection project initiative is between the Ministry of Economy (MOE) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. This move will surely provide strength to the integration

  2. between local and federal entities. It will fulfill the primary objective of creating a high-standard business environment by supporting companies of different sectors, including the industrial sector. Abu Dhabi strives to provide highly advanced infrastructure and has offered a variety of investments incentives. Now, after the first phase of the “e-connect” initiative, the emirate’s position as a leading business destination for various sectors, including the industrial sector, will be enhanced. H.E. Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Executive Director, IDB, said that integrating industrial licensing procedures between ADDED and the local and federal government entities involved in the process of issuing licenses would facilitate and simplify the procedures of setting up investment projects in the industrial sector. As per the “e-connect” project guidelines, there is collection of fees for publishing the official document of the industrial facility’s Memorandum of Association as well as the social responsibility fees through the ADDED’s website. While issuing or amending the industrial license, the official document will be published automatically. The current process is improved and delivers ease. Previously, an investor was required to visit the MOE to get the official documents published. After the issuance or amendment in the license, he had to pay the prescribed fees. To make the service better and highly automated, IDB is now working to include the processing of membership certificate provided by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) within the licensing procedure. From the same portal, one will get the unified membership ID, and he will be able to pay the Chamber’s fees at the same time. The ADCCI will provide the industrial license with a ‘Production’ or a converted to ‘Production’ status. Source:- https://added.gov.ae
