  2. What is Photoshop? • It is a photo editing program. • The screen is blank when you open it, because it allows you to import your own photo for editing. Mrs. Bean 2013

  6. Pixel • Small squares of light in a photo that is the basic unit used to create digital images. Mrs. Bean 2013

  7. Resizing images • Adding or subtracting the number of pixels. • Known as interpolation or resampling • The quality of the picture or resolution is determined by the quality and quantity of the small squares known as pixels. Mrs. Bean 2013

Not all photographers capture the object in full-frame. • Crop = Cut • Crop allows you to select an area of a image and discard everything else—similar to “cutting out” what you want to keep. • It allows you to change area of focus. • Eliminate unwanted area of a photograph. • It allows you to straighten crooked photographs. May show rulers to see measurements Click in the menu on View, Rulers or In the Applications bar, View Extras Begin at upper-left corner of area, drag diagonally to bottom right; release button.
