  4. 78 million live in 13% of the surface Over Population • manpower in working age rate is 51% of the total population. • Unemployment among women 50% Unemployment • Illiterate people rate 40 % of the population • 69% of women are illiterate Literacy • 10% of the total population are have a disable – more than 8 million are PWD (all kind of disability) Disability

  5. Only 12% of the disable receives services. • Most of the services available only in big cities. • Lack of trained and motivated specialist. Lack of Service for disable • A rage of 400 L.E. is the monthly income for family (5 persons) (1 Kg meat = 47 L.E) • Low income affected voluntary work. • Only school children under the umbrella of the social insurance (76% of the disable are not included in Schools) Low income • Before 1980 only medical APPROACH (institution) • 1981 till 1989 medical and social APPROAC • 2006 right-based approach after ratification of UN convention of rights of persons with disabilities Module used

ID • Caritas – Egypt: • Established in 1967, total of 730 employees • SETI Center (Support – Education – Training for Inclusion) • Center for training & studies in disability established in • Established in 1986, total 180 employees • Premises: 3 in Greater Cairo, 2 in Alexandria, 1 in Sohag • Area of operation: all governorates of Egypt (Cariats Egypt - SETI Center )

SETI Center Vocational Rehabilitation Department Community Based Rehabilitation Department Family Rehabilitation Department Awareness & training Department Information & Resources Department Educational Inclusion Department -Training young persons & adults on job skills -Supporting families to implement productive projects -Training families & Children -Training associations in order to present services - • Providing educational, training, advertising & • documenting materials (written / audiovisual) • Promotes the full inclusion of children with disabilities within the education system • -Training persons working in the field & volunteers • -Raising Society’s Awareness Training community members in poor areas & areas deprived of services (Cariats Egypt - SETI Center )
