  2. Coming up with the idea of making a new law This can be bought up at any time . e.g. like making all drugs in a country ( like cigarette’s ) illegal . Lets say that someone came up with the idea of making cigarette’s illegal and it went to the legislative assembly as a bill and they were about to do there 1st reading. The people in the legislative assembly will now start voting.

  3. The 1st Reading Now the bill is in the legislative assembly, it is now in it’s 1st stage! The clerk will now talk to the legislative assembly about making cigarette’s illegal, a LAW. If most of the people in the legislative assembly vote they want it to be a law, they will start letting the people in the public know, and then the bill will be passed onto a 2nd reading!

  4. The 2nd Reading Now, during the 2nd reading, they will vote for their 1st time. During their debate/ votes they will choose if they want making cigarette’s illegal, a LAW! then they will make it go to the 3rd reading!

The 3rd Reading Now, during the 3rd reading, the legislative assembly will now vote for the last time to see if the majority of them still want to make smoking cigarette’s illegal, a LAW, then the legislative assembly will be finished with the voting, and now the will give the bill to the legislative council so they can start voting if making cigarette’s illegal, a LAW. Now the bill will go to the legislative council!

  6. The 1st Reading ( With The Legislative Council ) Now the bill is in the legislative council, it will be read to the legislative council. If the legislative council is ok with it, then they will go to the 2nd reading.

  7. The 2nd Reading Now they will start voting! They will see if the majority of them vote for cigarette’s to be illegal. If the majority of them do, then they will go on to the 3rd reading to see if anyone has changed there minds!

  8. The 3rd Reading Now they will vote again to see if anyone of them have changed their minds. If none of them have, then the bill will go to the governor and see if he will give it the royal assent.

  9. The End Of Making A New Law If the governor approves of it, the governor gives the stamp of approval called the royal assent and it will become a law. Now it is called an act of parliament. Now there is no cigarette’s allowed. But the parliament must let the public know. And when the law is out, it will apply to EVERYONE!!! And that is how you make a law.
