  3. Overview • MSc project is the single most important module in the course • 60 credits • Opportunity to apply knowledge gained during the MSc • Opportunity to carry out research in topic of your choice

  4. Overview (Cont.) • Project is carried out by student, individually • under supervision of a member of staff • sometimes an industrial supervisor • But: • Requires a degree of interest and commitment; • Is different from all other modules, as no two projects are the same. • Expected hours spent on project: 600.

  5. Deliverables & Assessment • Main deliverables: • Proposal form & project specification • Interim Report(5%) • Project Final Report(90%) • Project presentation(5%)

  6. Getting Started • Decide what area you want to do the project in; • Consult list of proposed projects • Check the staff academic interest list • Approach potential supervisor with idea for project • Approach potential supervisor • If cannot decide on area, talk to project tutor.
