  1. De “HellespontAlhambra” of “Ti Asia”.

  2. In 2002 kwam de “Hellespont Alhambra” in de vaart.

  3. Vanaf 2004 werd de suoertanker omgedoopt tot “Ti Asia”.

  4. Zij varen onder de vlag van de Marshall islands

  5. De tanker behoort tot de Griekse rederij “Hellespont Shipping Cie”.

  6. Die bezit 4 identieke tankers, waaronder de Ti Asia en de Ti Africa.

  7. Het zijn ULCC schepen= “Ultra Large Crude Carrier” die een capaciteit gevven van 442.470 dwt.

  8. Zij werden gebouwd bij de scheepswerf van Daewoo Zuid Korea.

  9. Om de lading te beschermen tegen de hitte zijn de schepen wit geschilderd.

  10. De Ti Asia haalt een snelheid van 18 knopen leeg en 16.5 knopen geladen.

  11. Het meet 366 x 68 meter en heeft een diepgang van 24.53 meter. D.i. de lengte van 3 voetbalvelden.

  12. De motoren van de Ti Asia ontwikkelen een vermogen van 50.220 PK. Het schip is “dubbelwandig”.

  13. Momenteel worden de Ti Asia en de Ti Africa gebruikt door de rederij Maersk en varen op Quatar. Groeten: Thierry 11-2013
