  3. Schools Forum role • To agree any transfer of funds between blocks • To agree pooling of ‘LACSEG’ funding for maintained schools

  4. DSG LACSEG • Deducted from DSG for Academies

  5. What will it look like?

  6. Allowable local formula factors • Basic entitlement per pupil (currently AWPU) • Funding for additional educational needs (eg deprivation, SEN,EAL) • Rates • Exceptional site factors (eg split site, PFI and rent) • Lump sum for schools

  7. Deprivation - options • Free school meals (FSM) • Ever FSM • Benefits data • Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI)

  8. Minimum Funding Guarantee (MFG) • The MFG will continue to operate to provide support for schools whose budgets will reduce through the transitional period

  9. Funding Formula working group The purpose of the group will be to recommend changes to the East Sussex Funding Formula from what we have now to what will be permitted under the new regulations

Review stages 1 Identify factors in the existing formula which can no longer be used and propose reallocation methodology (exc SEN) 2 Identify funding which is currently devolved to schools and recommend how it can be delegated 3 Review SEN funding in line with new legislation 4 Identify any funding which should no longer be delegated to schools
