  2. Roskaposti Roskapostiksi kutsutaan ei-toivottua, suurina massoina lähetettyä, ei kenellekkään erityisesti kohdistettua sähköpostiviestintää. Roskaposti ruuhkauttaa verkkoja ja sähköpostijärjestelmiä ja aiheuttaa ylimääräistä työtä ja huomattavia kustannuksia. Roskapostin lähettäjiä on runsaasti, Oletetaan että kourallinen spammereita lähettää suurimman osan maailmalla liikkuvasta spammista. Osoitteita voidaan kerätä www-sivuilta tai news-sivuilta. Osoitteita voidaan myös ostaa tai myydä, joku taho on kerännyt listan osoitteita ja tämä taho välittää osoitteiston eteenpäin. On tarkka sähköpostiosoitteen julkaisemisesta. Roskapostia voidaan torjua myös erinlaisilla filtteriohjelmilla.
