  3. More 8th grade science • Physics • Speed, acceleration, velocity • Gravity • Balloon cars • Astronomy • Stars • Galaxies • Planet Presentations We do about two hands-on activities a week.

  4. Grading Policy • Classwork 25% • Weekly Quizzes/Tests 25% • Homework 5% • Projects/Labs 25% • Notes 10% • Notebook 10%

  5. Quizzes and Tests • Given every Thursday/Friday. • Quizzes are always open notes. Quiz questions will reappear on the chapter test. Study old Quizzes!!!

  6. Homework and Email • I will be sending home emails on Monday with the agenda & HW assignments for the week. • I will also send emails home keeping you informed of projects and tests. • Along with what’s going on at school! • Email is the best way to get in touch with me.

  7. Science Projects • There will NOT be Science Fair this year. • We will have 4 major projects that will be assigned at the end of each unit. • These will be at home projects. • Boat Float, Chem Cubes, Balloon Cars, & Planet Presentations

  8. Absent work • If a student has an excused absence, they will have 3 days to complete the work they missed • It is the student’s responsibility to find out what they missed from the absent box

  9. Suggested Supplies • Spiral Notebook (3 subject) • We will use the same notebook all year. • Spiral notebooks are taken home • Glue • Scissors • Markers, Colored Pencils or Crayons

  10. Suggested Supplies (cont.) • Pencils • Blue or black pens • Lined paper

  11. ARIES • ABI has grades & attendance information posted • Updates will be automatic. • Activation info will be sent out soon, set up new accounts & get new codes • Log in anytime: abi.murrieta.k12.ca.us • Grades are posted in the classroom every Thursday.

  12. WEBSITE • Our District website is www.murrieta.k12.ca.us • Each teacher has there own website on the Warm Springs page • Go to Teachers; then click on MANN and it will bring you to our class webpage!

  13. DONATIONS • From time to time I will ask for donations for labs that we will be conducting in the classroom. • Examples- Candy, Markers, Washers, Construction paper, etc.
