GREENSBORO MENTAL HEALTH BUILDING • Building location Greensboro • Built year 1991 • Total Area 99,935 ft2 • In terms of operations the building is divided into three section: • Main building: 87,421ft2; 12hr/6 days/week • Computer: 6030ft2; 24hr/7days/week • North Wing : 6030ft2; 24hr/7days/week • Each sector has its own AC which runs 24hr/7days/week NORTH ELEVATION SOUTHEAST CORNER

RETROFIT SAVINGS OPTIONS OPTION 1:REPLACE EXISTING LAMP WITH ENERGY EFFICIENT LAMP Current Practice: T12, 40 watt, magnetic ballast; 3 different fixtures: A, B, and C Recommended: T8 32 watts; Electronic ballast COMMON LIGHTING FIXTURES Implementation Cost Fixture type A = $49.00/fixture Fixture types B & C =$32.00/fixture Total implementation cost = $35,737.00 Simple payback period = 4.5 years Dollar Savings from Lamp Type A, B, & C =$7,867/yr

RETROFIT SAVINGS FROM HVAC Option 2A: Turn of Main Building AC from 10:00pm to 6:00am Weekends & Holidays • Estimated Savings: $ 12,315/year • Estimated Cost: $ 0.00 • Simple payback period: Immediate payback This analysis assumed that the City will provide their own labor. Option 2B: Changing from Fixed to Variable Frequency Drive • Estimated Savings: $ 4,335/year • Estimated Cost: $ 10,500 • Simple payback period: 2.4 years This analysis assumed that the City will provide their own labor.

OPtion2C: Replace the Existing Motor with Energy Efficient Motor Current practice: The fan is being driven by 75 hp motor, efficiency of 0.925 Recommended: Replace the 75 hp motor with efficient motor of efficiency 0.955 Assume an average load factor (LF) of 0.8, operate for 8,760hrs/year • Estimated Savings: $983/year • Estimated Cost: $4,505 • Simple payback period: 4.6years • This analysis assumed that the City will provide their own labor.

RETROFITSAVINGS OPTIONS • Replacing T12, 34 watt fluorescence tubes with T8 25 watt and electronic ballast: • Number of fixtures in Detention Center = 780; burning continuously throughout the year • Number of fixtures in Courthouse = 1316; burning 12 hour/day and 5days a week Option 1: Replace the Existing Lamp with T8 25 watt Estimated Savings: $ 29,534 Estimated Cost: $ 142,528 Simple payback period: 4.8 years This analysis assumed that the City will provide their own labor. Option 2A: Repair/Replace controls in Courthouse Estimated Savings: $ 19,825/yr Estimated Cost: $ 129,600 Simple payback period: 6.5 years
