  1. 1CSNW1 – week 5 De onderste lagen van het OSI model

  2. OSI Reference Model (herh.) All People Seem To Need Data Processing Bron: DevCentral

  3. Thick Ethernet (10BASE5)(physical layer) 50 Ohm 10 Mbit/sec (baseband)

  4. Vampier tap

  5. Thin Ethernet (10BASE2) (physical layer)

  6. UTP Ethernet 10BASE-T(physical layer) hub = naaf

  7. Netwerkkaart (Thin Ethernet en UTP) Bron: Wikipedia

  8. CSMA/CD (1) Carrier Sense Multiple Access CSMA/CD (ANSI/IEEE 802.3)

  9. CSMA/CD (2) Collision Detection

  10. Manchester Encoding

  11. Ethernetpakket octet = byte Start Frame Delimiter; DeSTination; SouRCe; Length/Type;

  12. Media Access Control (MAC) address • MAC48 (6 octetten) 248 = 281.474.976.710.656 mogelijke MAC adressen • Voorbeeld: 00:C0:0C:03:A3:44 • FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF als bestemming dan broadcast

  13. Ethernet kabellengte (1) - 10 Mb/sec => 100 nsec per bitcel - Snelheid in coax is 2/3 x lichtsnelheid => 2/3 (3.108) = 2.108 m/s - In 100 nsec 20 meter; ergo één bit is 20 meter lang

  14. Ethernet kabellengte (2) - Eén segment max. 500 m en max. 5 segmenten - Max. 100 transceiver per segment met minimaal 2,5 m afstand - Dus (5 x 500) / 20 = 125 bits over de totale lengte van de kabel

  15. Ethernet Standards • The 10BASE system operates at 10 Mbps and uses baseband transmission methods • 100BASE 100 Mbps. Because it is 10 times faster than Ethernet, it is often referred to as Fast Ethernet. • 100BASE-TX: two pairs of high-quality twisted-pair wires • 100BASE-T4: four pairs of normal-quality twisted-pair wires • 100BASE-FX: fiber optic cable • 1000BASE Gigabit ethernet • 1000BASE-T: category 5e copper cabling • 1000BASE-SX: fiber optic cable • 1000BASE-LX: longer distances over single-mode fiber • 10GBASE (emerging technology)

  16. Network Network Netwerkkoppeling (herh.) Application Application Transport Transport Network Network Data Link Data Link Data Link Data Link Physical Physical Physical Physical Radio UTP Bron: Jochen Schiller

  17. Netwerk met VLANs Bron: CISCO

  18. VLAN configuratie

  19. Twee switches dmv trunk verbonden

  20. 802.1Q Frame Format(VLAN tagging)

  21. Netwerk met Layer-3 Switch

  22. Practicum Ethereal (Wireshark)

  23. Bronnen • Ethernet (Wikipedia) • IEEE Standards Association • CISCO Systems, Inc. • Wireshark site • Jochen Schiller, “Mobiele Communicatie”, (Pearson

  24. Opdrachten • Bestudeer hfdst. 15.3 • Maak opgaven 15.5 en 15.6
