  3. Viswanathan "Vishy" Anand is an Indian chess Grandmaster and a former World Chess Champion. Anand became India's first grandmaster in 1988. • He held the FIDE World Chess Championship from 2000 to 2002. www.assignmentpoint.com

As an Indian and an Asian chess player, he blazed a trail with a number of firsts, including in 1984 becoming the youngest Indian to earn the title of IM (aged 14), becoming the youngest ever Indian Champion at 16, becoming in 1987 the first Indian to win the World Junior Championship and India’s first grandmaster, and becoming India’s (and Asia’s) first World Champion. www.assignmentpoint.com
