  2. Official Definition Graphical User Interface – A type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices with images rather than text commands. A GUI represents the information and actions available to a user through graphical icons.

Timeline/Evolution 1947/48- No, a transistor is not a computer, but this invention greatly affected the history of computers. 1942-Who was first in the computing biz is not always as easy as ABC 1946- 20,000 vacuum tubes later… 1979- WordStar Software 1985- Microsoft Windows 1981- MS-DOS Computer Operating System. 1948- Baby and the Williams Tube turn on the memories. 1951- First commercial computer & able to pick presidential winners. 1936- First Freely programmable computer. 1944-The Harvard Mark 1 computer.
