  2. BBA Church Planting Process Church Plant Birthing Types: • Spontaneous Church Plants: Orphan Model – an individual starts a new work without sponsorship; Divorce Model – a church splits and the departing group starts a new work;

  3. BBA Church Planting Process • Strategic Church Planting: Adoption Model – a denominational entity starts a new work and solicits a church sponsor. Clone Model – “Mother” church sends out a group to seed a church plant; Family Model – a partnership of churches strategically decides to plant the church;

BBA Church Planting Process Family Model Process: • The objective is to produce a pastor-led church that: • maintains an intentional, strategic focus upon reaching the lost and unchurched, and • purposely equips the resulting members to minister. • The association/churches identify the area and target group that need a church;

  6. BBA Church Planting Process Family Model Process: • The association determines churches that will partner to birth/parent the new church; • The association determines the potential resources to fund the church plant; • Partners form the Strategic Planning Team (SPT) – Church Plant Covenant;

  7. BBA Church Planting Process • The SPT formulates a church planter profile to reach the target group; • The SPT identifies the potential church planter; • A Church Planter Assessment Team assesses the potential church planter;

  8. BBA Church Planting Process • The church planter identifies a divine call to the specific area/target group; • The church planter prepares a Church Planting Proposal (CPP); • The SPT calls the church planter, approves the CPP, and commits funding;

  9. BBA Church Planting Process 12. The SPT moves the church planter to the field and EMPOWERS him to begin the process. The focus of the church planter is to reach the unchurched, not to “shuffle the saints;” • The SPT meets quarterly to assess progress, approve the budget, and commit funding;
