Grant, Department of ChemistryThe University of Tennessee at Chattanooga We have examined a series of coordination polymers based upon Pt(II)/[9]aneS3 corners with a variety of organic diimine linkers. The crystal of the structure for the square [Pt4([9[aneS3)4(bpe) 4](OTf)8 is shown below (bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene, OTf = triflate). In contrast to the analogous molecular square with 4,4’-bipyridine as a linker, these squares shows all triflates excluded from the square cavity.
