  1. What’s new in FDM Version 11 (through 11.1.1.3) Presenter: John Von Allmen , CPA

  2. Adaptors • There are two types of Adaptors for FDM • Target Adaptors (Load to Target System) • Source Adaptors (Pull from Source System) 2

  3. Adaptors - Target • Target Adaptors (Load to Target System) • Essbase/Planning • Financial Management • Hyperion Enterprise • Strategic Finance • Pull (Data Mart ) Adaptor (Customizable) • Tax (FDM Data Pull Adaptor) 3

  4. Adaptors - Source • Source Adaptors (Pull from Source System) • Oracle E-Business Suite GL • SAP • ERPI (ERP Integration) • Source Adaptors give you “drill-through” from FDM to the source system 4

  5. SAP Source Adaptor • Starting with Version 11.1.1.2 • Works with SAP R/3 4.6c, ECC 6.0 • 1st Generation (Test first, does it give you the detail information you require?) • Requires 2 pieces , FDM SAP Source Adaptor (SAP-FIN-A and a component from Bristlecone.

  6. ERP Integrator • This is a new addition to this version that uses ODI (Oracle Data Integrator) to pull data from Oracle source systems. • ODI Must be installed in order to use this source adaptor.

  7. Drill-Through 7

  8. Enterprise Customers • Starting with Version Enterprise 6.5.1 • Enterprise can drill back to the source information in FDM. • Be careful will drill back using source adaptors from FDM. If using shared services cannot drill back to the source system, because Enterprise does not use shared services. 8

  9. Drill-Through 9

  10. Drill Through Gotchas • Dimensions are important for drill back and have to be exact. • Cannot use extra dimensions for extra information or for staging. • Hyperion Enterprise cannot be used with Shared Services components and drill through does not work for some items. • Be cautiously optomistic when using source adaptors. If you want to use them, try them, but make sure they give you the level of information that you require.

  11. Multi-language support • English • French • German • Danish Easy to tell what languages are supported in your version by looking at reports in the workbench.

  12. Shared Services Integration • Shared Services can be used with FDM. • This is good for user names. • Utility User Migration will help move users onto Shared Services. • Shared services does not maintain FDM Internal Security. Still must maintain in FDM. 12

  13. EPM Installer • FDM with Version 11 is part of the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installer. • All software in installed with a common installer. 13
