  2. Hades Family • Hades parents are Cronos and Rhea. • Hades siblings are Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. • Hades wife is Persephone. • Hades has a three headed guard dog named Cerberus, who I consider a part of his family.

  3. Hades FamilyPersephone • Persephone is stuck in the Underworld part of the year, because she ate one seed of a pomegranate. • When Persephone is in the Underworld it’s always winter. • Persephone and Hades are both said to not be loyal to each other.

  4. Interesting things about Hades • Greeks often call Hades Pluto, because they think if they say his name he might beckon [have them die]. • Hades is the lord of the Underworld. • Even though he was the god of death he wasn’t evil.

  5. Hades Possessions • Cyclopes’ gave Hades a helmet of invisibility, to help defeat Cronos. • Hades has a staff to beckon the dead to his realm. • Hades owned all the precious and metal gems on Earth.

  6. The Underworld; Hades Home • Hades is the god of death and the dead. • If you eat the food of the Underworld you are stuck in the Underworld forever. • Hades judges decide were souls go, and if they’re evil what their punishment is.

  7. The Underworld; Hades HomeRivers • To get to the Underworld you have to cross Styx. • The ferryman Charon made you pay one coin to cross Styx. • Once your past Styx there is four other rivers you have to cross, The Archon, Phlegethon, Cocytus, and Lethe.

  8. The Underworld; Hades HomeSections • There are three sections where a spirit can be sent. • The good are sent to Elysium, the bad were sent to Tartarus, and the average souls are sent to the Asphodel Fields. • The Asphodel Fields took up most of the Underworld.

  9. Myths with Hades • Hercules once borrowed Cerberus to complete his last burden. • Hercules once came to the Underworld to save a queen from death. • Once Sisyphus kept Hades tied up.
