  2. There are several motorcycle parts that actually need regular checking. Of course you don't have to check each and every part of your motorcycle on a daily basis, but knowing which parts necessitate proper maintenance will spare you from any future troubles with your ride.

  3. TYRES/TIRES - It is important that you check the tire pressure as you fill up the gas. Tires should also be properly inflated because if not, they will generate too much heat, and this can result in a blow out of the tires. Tires running too hot are also more likely to get worn out very quickly. Take note that tire damage is the most common reason for a motorcycle breakdown. In terms of tires replacement, this should be done sooner. In case the tread depth reaches 1 to 2 mm, this is a sign that your tires need to be replaced.

  4. BRAKES - As brake fluid sucks up moisture, it becomes less efficient and effective. Thus, brake fluid should be replaced every year or every other year to make sure the brakes are always working properly. Make sure that you also regularly look at the thickness of the brake pads. Not getting a motorcycle repair service to check the brake pads will likely cause big damage to the brake disc. This, in turn, will cost you a costly replacement.

  5. CHAINS - Remember to lubricate your chains every time you fill up the gas or even after every ride. Make sure that both sides of the chain are sprayed with the lubricant. You should also spin the back tire so that the entire chain will be lubricated as well.

  6. FUEL - Many bike owners actually overlook the need to check the fuel filter. Fuel filter should be checked regularly and replaced once every 2 years. This will ensure that the filter isn't clogged. During a motorcycle repair service, when cracking or damage is seen on the fuel lines, these should also be replaced immediately.

  7. OIL - Regularly changing the filter and oil will keep the motorcycle healthy and young. Take note also that the oil level should always be at its MAX or HIGH level. Having too little oil can be disastrous, while having too much of it will cause the oil to flood the air cleaner.

  8. BATTERY - Motorcycle batteries are also a common cause of broken motorcycles. Since it is complicated to actually see the battery, it is usually not checked regularly as it should be. Ideally, the battery should be checked on a monthly basis to ensure its perfect performance. Also, the battery must be 100% charged. You will know it's time to recharge it when the lights go dim or the starter sounds very weak.
