  1. HS Announcements: Wednesday, Sept. 19th High School All vehicles must have a parking pass– even those in the gravel. If you still need a parking pass, see Mrs. Neer. Any NHS Member interested in getting some community service hours, please call Mrs. Hostetler from Bethel Mennonite Church about after school tutoring training. She needs your names by the end of the week. See Mrs. Smith for more information. Attention students who have signed up for Drama Club or might still be interested in participating. The Drama Club will be meeting this Thursday during both homerooms in the choir room to discuss aspects of the fall production. Bring your lunch with you. Attention Juniors & Seniors. The following institutions and military branches will have representatives here to meet with you during homeroom time: 9/19 - Cleveland Institute of Art 9/24 – Bowling Green State University 9/20 - Shawnee State 9/25 – Cedarville University Please stop by guidance to sign up or if you have any questions. 5. Homecoming is next week. If you plan to bring a guest to the Homecoming dance (meaning someone who is not currently a student at WLS high school) you need to get a guest form from Mrs. Neer in the office. Homecoming Spirit Week themes are: Monday: Favorite Rock Star or College Day Tuesday: Neon or 80s Day Wednesday: Red, White and Blue Day (also picture day) Thursday: Group Dress-up Day Friday: Orange and Black Day 6. The HS Guidance Office will be collecting money for the PLAN test that will be given to sophomores until Friday, Oct. 5. Any sophomore who plans to attend a 4-year college post- graduation is encouraged to take this practice entrance examination. The cost is $11.75. Please bring your check made out to WL-S Schools or cash into the Guidance Office by 11:30 am when Ms. Tennant is here. Seniors- If you are interested in applying to Otterbein-if you apply online prior to November 1-they will waive the application fee. If you wait and apply after November 1, you will have to pay the $25 application fee. Otterbein accepts their own online application or the Common Application. There is an essay, recommendation, and counselor form that is required with the application. Jim Bisenius, who spoke to all HS and MS students yesterday, will be speaking to WLS parents next Monday evening from 6:30-8:00pm in the cafetorium. All parents and students are invited to attend. The Colors Joy 5K Run will take place on Oct. 14th at Bellefontaine High School at 3:00pm. All proceeds from this race will benefit Joy DelaPena’s family. Early registration fee is $25 if submitted by Sept. 27th. Registration forms are available in the office. Reminder – No school for students this Friday, September 21st, due to teacher in-service. Picture Day will be next Wednesday, September 26th for students in grades 6-11. Homecoming Court was announced today. Voting for King and Queen will be tomorrow. Freshman Class Attendant is Blake Cupps Sophomore Class Attendant is Maddie Gantz Junior Class Attendant is Carly Lowry Senior Class Homecoming Queen Candidates are Tina Caporaso, Shawnda Henault, Madeline Crissinger, Savannah Marceau and Savanna Shipp Senior Class Homecoming King Candidates are Ross Hickenbottom, Landon Hormann, Corey Lianez, Deven McGuire and Jake Shoemaker Athletics The Varsity Girls Soccer Team lost to SCC by a score of 0-4 last night. April Kelley had 15 saves. Girls are now 4-2-3 and 4-1-1 in OHC. The Varsity Golf Team defeated Mechanicsburg yesterday by a score of 165-221. The team is now 12-2 in OHC play and are playing in the OHC tournament today at Reid Park.
