  3. Purpose of ITRM Policy Gov102-00 • To establish a framework for the development and governance of Information Technology Resource Management (ITRM) Policies, Standards, and Guidelines. • To distinguish between ITRM and Non-ITRM documents.

  4. Purpose of ITRM Standard Gov101-01 • To establish a comprehensive and uniform process for developing, adopting, and distributing PSGs for use in ITRM. • The process includes the initial promulgation and continuous management oversight of all ITRM documents.

  5. Development and Governance Responsibility • The CIO, under the direction and control of the ITIB, directs the formulation and promulgation of ITRM policies, standards, and guidelines (PSGs) and other technology related PSGs as required by legislation or other mandates.

  6. Document Developmentof Both Documents • The policy and standard were developed by a collaborative effort that involved input from VITA directorates and, via VITA’s online review and comment application (ORCA), from other Executive Branch Agencies. • The policy is new. The standard replaces COV ITRM Standard 2000-01.1, dated August 10, 2000.
