Tk20 Adoption Planning • Planning Committee • Spring 2008 – Summer 2008 • Internal & External Stakeholders – CAS, PCL, SoE, Academic Affairs, ITS, Supervising Teachers, Principals, Faculty & Staff • Reviewed 3 systems - Interviewed several institutional representatives across nation • face-to-face visit with one institution • Established “roll-out” plan (phased among programs and functions within system) • Course Based Assessments – Courses common across programs that meet accreditation recommendations

  4. Course-Based Assessments (Key Assignments) • 6-8 common courses across programs within department • Informed students, faculty, bookstore, etc. • Identified lead instructors • Collected and input existing rubrics • Data analysis for one semester • Changes imminent

  5. Assessment Planning Questions… • What do we need to know? • External stakeholders • Accreditation needs • What do we want to know for continuous improvement? • Faculty • Administrators • Staff • External stakeholders • Are there common data needs across groups and/or programs?

Rubric Task Force • Developed common rubric template • Exceeds, Meets, Does not Meet • What to do if students don’t meet expectations • Must meet expectations on each SLO identified • How do we communicate these requirements with students? • Common syllabus statement • Student orientation • Academic advising • Trained lead instructors • Selection of appropriate standards, competencies, and proficiencies • Completing their rubric in the new format • Implementing rubric in Tk20
