  8. INTENTIONAL GUIDANCE GHS Fall Semester Target Group: Seniors with D’s and/or F’s at 1st quarter progress • Study Skills • Attendance • Homework/Tutoring • Attitude/Beliefs • Academic achievement • Credits earned

  9. Glendale Unified School District Glendale High School Intentional Guidance Action Plan 2008-2009 Target Group: __ ___Seniors with D’s and/or F’s on 5 week progress report Target Group selection is based upon the following data: _ __All seniors who had D’s and/or F’s at 1st quarter progress

  10. Pre-test will be administered to target group The results of the pre test will drive our Intentional Guidance Curriculum between now and the end of Fall semester.

  11. Intentional Guidance Curriculum Pull out sessions will address issues identified from our pretest results. For example, attendance, homework, tutoring, support network, knowledge of what is required to graduate

  12. Post Test will be administered to each Senior who attends the sessions

  13. FOUNDATION: ASCA National Standards

  14. Evaluation Data will include: • Process data-What did we do for whom? • Perception data-What do seniors think they know, believe, or can do? • Results data-How are seniors different as a result of an activity or program?

  15. ACCOUNTABILITY • We will measure the resultsof our programs. • And use the data to make decisions regarding program improvement.

  16. Today’s School Counselors… • Have standards • Teach classroom lessons and evaluate them • Use student data base systems to inform their practice • Use state-of-the-art career technological skills • Ensure every student has a plan • Design comprehensive programs to meet data driven needs • Are culturally competent and are advocates for equity and access • Are on leaderships teams within the school • Share program results and use them to improve • Are members of professional associations
