Due by the end of term. Bonus marks available.

  • Create an survival diary.

    • Your aeroplane has crashed into an extreme environment(Hot desert, Antarctica or the Amazon rainforest).Many people are injured and need to send someone to find help fast. You have a large waterproof rucksack which contains a machete, a lighter, a small tent and tinned food.

    • Your job is to produce a 3 day photo diary (with a 100 word written description per day) to explain to people how you managed to trek across this extreme environment to find help.

    • It is recommended that pupils word process their work either as a word document or PowerPoint.

    • How will it be assessed: Teacher assessment – merits for best photo diary and the best one in year 7 will be displayed in the “Geo excellence” display area.

    • You may need to watch some T.V. / Youtube

    • For example: Ray Mears and Bear Grylls


One week homework task

This can also be background research for your diary project – after all you may need to survive meeting these animals on your trek.
