How the discussions about MDG’s • National Council for the Coordination of Social Policies-Presidential Unit • All around MDG’s is organized around the reports: Ministries of Social Affairs, Education, Labour, Economy, Planning, Science and Research, Health, Sustainable Development and Secretary of Childhood and Youth • General Assumption: The State must be the main actor in formulating and executing public policies. When NGOs and private sectors are included, it must be in this perspective.

Goal 2: Achieve universal basic education (including primary and secondary) • PrimarySchoolCompletionRate: 91% • SecondarySchoolCompletationRate: 44% • Many actions/programmes to improve these rates and gather educational goals including: • Cash transfer programs: universal protection • School Retention pedagogical programmes and scholarships • 2nd chance primary and secondary education • Training for work at secondary schools addressed to vulnerable populations • New technical education law, concerning secondary, tertiary and vocational training. Finnancing, curricula, institutional strenghening

Other agendas: Ibero-americanEducationalGoals 2021 • a set of goals and indicatorsadopted in 2010 • Organization of Ibero-AmericanStatesfortheEducation, Science and Culture and the Ibero-American General Secretary and adoptedbyministries of education in theregion. • Goals referred specifically to TVET/skills: • improve and adaptthedesign of technicaleducationaccordingto labor demands • skillsformarginalizedpeople • A more participativeprocess: advisercommitteeincluding: tradeunions, NGOs, studentsassociations, parentsassociations, etc. and more recognition in theeducational arena

What does post-2015 mean in Argentina? • The national reports reflect a criticism about an agenda that comes from the North, • The whole concept of “efficiency of aid development” is questioned, • And there’s much more interest in south-south, horizontal or triangular cooperation • What does it mean? Presidential elections
