Texas Regional Water Planning • Time Horizon for Water Plans: 50 years • Fundamental Planning Activities: • Population and Water Demand Projections • Assessment of Current Supply Volumes Available • Analysis of who will have a future need or surplus • Evaluation and recommendation of water management strategies and scenarios

  11. Texas Regional Water Planning • Region C and Region D 1st Cycle – Working together • Region C: 16 county area surrounding Dallas and Fort Worth • Region D: 19 county area in North East Texas area

  12. Texas Regional Water Planning • Region C and Region D • Sulphur River Joint Task Force • Formed in 1998 • Each Planning Group appointed 6 members • Reported to both Region C and Region D’s Planning Groups

  15. Texas Regional Water Planning • Region C and Region D Future? • Depends on the success of the SB3 Study Commission and on the planning groups response to their results
