  2. How big is the Sahara? What percent of Africa does it cover? • It covers 3.3 million square miles • 25% of Africa

  3. What are the names of the tribes that live in the Sahara. Describe their customs? • One of them are the Tuaregs and one of their main customs are wearing viels.

  4. List and describe the meals they eat? • They drink a lot of milk and eat and thick crepe with sauce of butter and sun dried tomatoes and onions.

  5. List and briefly describe four animals that live in the Sahara? • Small Fenec Fox, Jerboa, Addax and camels. Camels store fat in their humps so they don’t get as tired as much. Small Fennec foxes are nocturnal foxes. Jerboa are small mice that stand on two feet.

  6. Why is an oasis important? • They are important because many food sources grow there.

  7. What is the average temperature? • 109 degrees

  8. Where and when was the highest temperature recorded? • 136 degrees and it was recorded in El Aziza, Libya September, 13, 1922

  9. How much rainfall does the Sahara receive a year? • Less than 4 inches
