  1. Is Gamemaker a good learning tool?

  2. What is it and what is it used for? Game Maker is a computer software that allows you to make games using simple coding. It allows you to design and make simple games like plat form games, games like pacman, etc. It also has a simple coding system for people who want to make more complex games. It is made by Yo Yo studios

  3. How is it educational? It is educational in to ways according to students in Mr Edwards class and Mr Edwards. It can be a good tool to present topics like how Yr7’s use it to present there ancient civilisation. It can also be used as a puzzle solving game and allows students to be creative will think hard. Because all the actions have to have a reaction it makes students think about how things work. But is it an insight to games?

  4. How will it help in the future? It could be an insight it to producing games. Game Maker helps you make basic games. It shows Children what is done to make a game. It has basic coding is easy enough to understand. There are also tutorials to help people get the idea of it. This insight can inspire children to go into the game industries in the future.

  5. Is it an excuse to play games? This is a bit of a problem.1 in 4 students think Game Maker is an educational tool. The rest think it is an excuse to play games. Some think it can be educational but some people just play their games instead of fixing them and continue the game. When I asked people a lot said it was a bit of an excuse to play games.

  6. Is it a good learning tool? Game maker can be a good learning tool if you use it properly. If you make a simple game with pre made sprites and play it again and again with out making any more levels, you aren’t using it well. If you use coding make own sprites and put a lot of effort but also apply it to a topic it can be educational. It is a break from every day work so I think that Game maker if used properly can be a good learning tool to be used by a lot of ages.
