  • Any organization can be broken down into it’s three categories. For us it is 10% Highly Capable, 80% Capable, and 10% Incapable.

  • Highly Capable: Has nothing to do with athletic ability. Are you self-disciplined, have a great work-ethic, good grades, trustworthy, a man of character.

  • Incapable: Always have an excuse! Miss the weight room, bad grades, behavior issues, cannot be trusted etc…


Eligibility

Eligibility

  • Each student-athlete must be academically eligible at the start of each sport season according to the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s (OHSAA) academic guidelines. Student athletes must have received passing grades during the previous six-week grading period in subjects that earn a minimum of five (5) credits per year toward graduation. In addition, according to South-Western City School Board approval and OHSAA guidelines, student-athletes must maintain a minimum grade point average per six-week grading period, as follows, to be eligible to participate. Student-athletes may petition once during their freshman/sophomore years and once during their junior/senior years for an eligibility waiver, which must be approved by the Athletic Director.

Drug/Alcohol Policy

  • The athletic code of conduct shall be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Individual sport seasons governed by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSSA) are deemed to have commenced on the first day of practice in which the OHSSA permits coaching. The season is not deemed to have concluded until the final activity is completed. Typical culminating activities may include but are not limited to banquets, award recognition programs or other functions that mark the official end of the season. Violations occurring during this time period will be designated in-season Violations that occur outside of the official sports season will be designated as out-of-season violations. Violations in grades 9 – 12 shall be cumulative.

2013 Physicals

Physicals for the 2013-2014 School Year will be Thursday, July 11th

Where - Grove City Rec Center

Cost - $10.00

Time – Grades 11-12 6:00-6:45

Grades 9-10 6:45-7:30

Middle School 7:30-8:15

Have the front of the forms filled out prior to arriving at the physical. This will speed up the process and make a more accurate history. Forms can be printed off the OHSAA.org website or GroveCityGreyhounds.com
