Classroom Rules • No Bathroom Passes – AT ALL (Don’t Ask) • No Phones – EVER – Policy – I see it, it goes to the dean • All assignments have due dates for a reason • Not prepared = Detention and phone call home • Damage to computer is your responsibility – Check your computer • All other school’s apply – Use common sense

Bell Ringers • Bell Ringer Objectives: • Improve students reading skills • Learn different reading strategies • Gain knowledge of Common Core Reading Strategies • Use Google forms to report understanding • Click on Bell Ringer on website (Newsela.com) • Read the daily article • Fill out the form on the website • Bell Ringer – 2 points per day • NO MAKE UPS (participation points)

Assignments • Microtype – 20 points per lesson • 20 points – zero errors • 18 points – 1 error • 16 points – 2 errors • 14 points – 3 errors • 12 points – 4 errors • 10 points – 5 errors • 8 points – 6 errors • 6 points – 7 errors • 4 points – 8 errors • 2 points – 9 errors • 0 points – 10 errors or more • Objective • Type without looking • Increase speed per lesson

Attendance • Attendance is key to any education • Be on time – Tardy – must be in your seat and logged on when bell rings • 1 tardy – warning • 2 tardy – detention and phone call home • 3 tardy – counselor referral • 4 tardy – dean’s referral • 5 tardy – possible drop from class (dean’s discretion) • If you are more than 20 minutes late – Class Cut • Dean’s referral and possible suspension

  15. College Credit • M.I.A. – Dual Credit Program • Fill out application – given to you by Mr. Strein • Must have an A or B for the entire year • Receive college credit through South Suburban College • Credit can be transferred to any college
