  2. Methodology • We gathered salaries of players from the Eastern Conference in the National Hockey League. • With these salaries we aim to project the average salary for a randomly selected player in the NHL.

  3. Data • Data was Gathered by randomly selecting five players each from five different franchises. (Rangers, Penguins, Devils, Islanders, Flyers)

  4. Specifics • N=25 • SD=109,387 • Mean= 2,500,000 • E=54,519 • CL: 98%

  5. Confidence Interval • E=tα/2 * s/√n • 98% CI: $2.44million < µ < $2.55million • 95% CI: $2.05million< µ<$2.545million

  6. RLI • We can be 98% sure that the average mean salary of all NHL players is between $2,445,481 and $2,554,519.

  7. Improvements • To improve our research we could have expanded our data set. This would have included using player salaries from Western Conference teams. It may be that Western Conference teams have a lower payroll.
