Noyce Scholar Components • Freshman/Sophomore experiences (210, summer stipends) • Junior/Senior support (310, 410) • Monthly meetings with SSTEM scholars • Induction support during first 2 years of teaching • Mentors from high need math and science high schools • State, national, international conferences

  7. Continued Challenge: Recruitment • USC Juniors/Seniors • MTC/OCTC Transfer Students • Summer Experiences • MTC/OCTC Scholarships ($8000 on each campus)

  8. Conference Component • State Conferences 5 to SCCTM; 2 to SC2 • National Conferences 3 to National Noyce Meeting (Washington, DC); 1 to NCTM (Philadelphia, PA) • International Conferences 1 to NSF Computational Thinking & Inquiry Teaching (Crete, Greece)

  9. EDSE 210 Format: One-hour elective course with classroom observations Target Audience: Freshman (Year 1)/Sophomore (Year 2) STEM majors at USC, MTC, and OCTC Last Year: 3000 fliers = 10 students This Year: 6000 fliers = 24 students (+20)

  10. Continued Work Developing Math and Science Teacher Leaders through the Noyce Program Applying for second NSF Noyce Grant to support MAT students and Master Teachers
