  6. All townships in the watershed are actively working on development of open space plans. Protection of key open space is also the focus of land trusts and conservation organizations in the region. RECREATIONALRESOURCES OPEN SPACE IN THEWATERSHED There are a number of recreational resources available in the Lockatong-Wickecheoke Watershed region. However, there is opportunity to allow more access to the area, and further develop recreational potential.

  9. Both the Lockatong and Wickecheoke offer several miles of quite technical class III-V whitewater. While rushing through the exceptional landscape, however, most paddlers don’t have much opportunity to fully appreciate the scenery When the creeks come up after heavy rains, experienced boaters rush to these swollen waters to enjoy some of the best whitewater paddling in the state

  10. Some signs place barriers of access to the special places of a stream While others invite the public to enter and enjoy its beauty There is access to the streams at a number of places. However, improved access would increase the opportunity for enjoyment of these exceptional waterways.
