  2. How Much Will It Cost to Attend MWU? Annual Costs (9-Month Budget) Figures based on 2010-11 Academic year • $52,280 for students living with parents • $55,641 for students living on campus • $59,618 for students living off campus Cost of Attendance increases 5% to 7% annually.

  3. Cost of Attendance Includes educationally related expenses for the student only, such as: • Tuition, Books & Supplies • Insurance • Rent & transportation • Personal Expenses Cost of Attendance does not include: • Car payments, Credit Card payments • Moving expenses • Higher-than-average rent or mortgage • 1Dependent Care Expenses (Exception: 1Daycare expenses for single students or married students with working spouses)

Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) • Professional Student Exchange Program • $15,600 Support Fee for the 2010-2011 AY • Limited to four academic years • States supporting students in Optometry: Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, *Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming. *No new Idaho students will receive WICHE PSEP support for now. The State of Idaho did not receive an appropriation to fund new seats in Optometry for the 2010-2011 academic year. Federal Loans • PERKINS: (subsidized loan) • Based on eligibility of neediest students • Amounts vary from $2,500 to $3500. • Apply before priority deadline • STAFFORD: (subsidized/unsubsidized) • Automatically awarded with FAFSA application • Annual limit $40,500 • Total lifetime limit $224,000 • GRAD PLUS: (Credit-based) • Covers the remainder up to cost of attendance.

Application Process • Apply for financial aid online as soon as matriculation deposit is made • Financial Aid tab available via MWUNET (full online application instructions) • Living expense refunds disbursed during week after class begins • Please come prepared with one month’s living expenses! • Check your MWU e-mail and Message Board for Notifications *Priority Deadline (Early April)
